Photographer, filmmaker, surfer, and host— she’s all about capturing real connection, movement, and emotion.

Leesa brings a blend of storytelling and ease to the retreat—helping you settle in, feel present, and become part of the rhythm here. She will guide the group, help you feel at home, introduce you to the locals, and make sure everything runs smoothly—so you can relax, surf your best and take it all in.

Surf Photographers

A range of locally-based surf photographers and videographers will attend select surf sessions including. So don't worry. We'll get you gliding and falling from the water, from the shore and the air. You'll have a music video's worth of commercial grade content by the end of the week. We want you to look as good in the photos, as you feel inside when the week ends.

Surf Coaches from Lunazul Surfing

“My parents started Lunazul back in the late 90’s-early 2000’s. They worked hard and rolled the dice opening a surf shop back when Sayulita was just a little fishing town. Now Sayulita is a bustling town with yoga shalas, bars, a happening food scene and many traveling tourists.

After my father’s passing in August of 2022, with the help of our incredible staff, I’ve began to lead the ship my parents passionately sailed for 20 years. We will have a few surprise guests who are local professional surfers join us for lessons or for the free surf so you can see how they approach waves and chat to them about their career in the water.

The rooms are cozy and curated, with local-art touches, natural textures, and a nostalgic ’70s surf vibe, blended with Mexican charm.

The Entire Place

We have secured the entire Lodge for the week (9 rooms), so it will be for just Rideaway guests, hosts and the Alma staff ensuring we have everything we need.

We will be filming the entire week and screening the film on the final night of the retreat for the entire group plus any new friends and friends of Alma Lodge to watch followed by a farewell party on the rooftop.
