This 2-day course will take months off your learning curve. Learn to catch your own food & explore the underwater world in a safe, sustainable way. A big part of this course takes place in our giant, 2 meter deep pool. Even for experienced spearos, time spent doing target practice in a pool is invaluable. You’ll be able to simulate diving down with a speargun, reloading it, and become familiar with what it feels like to shoot it. That way, when you inevitably see that 100 kilo tuna swim right up to your face, you’ll be ready.

What is included

DURING THIS 2 DAY COURSE, YOU WILL LEARN:  * Breathing for spearfishing * Speargun basics including how to load and fire the gun safely. * Relevant safety skills including the buddy rescue. * Fish identification specific to Indonesia * Equalization for diving THE COURSE INCLUDES: * Classroom theory and workshops * Pool sessions where you will learn to load and fire a speargun safely and accurately in a controlled environment. * Open water freediving sessions * Open water spearfishing sessions * Equipment rental * All freediving and spearfishing equipment  Excludes * Transport to and from the course * Food and beverage purchase during the course * Cost of cooking our catch after conclusion of diving each day

Itinerary

Day 1: 8am: Intros, theory, safety workshop, pool diving session. 12pm: Lunch 1pm: Depart to Padang-Padang Beach for a boat spearfishing session hunting fish on the reef with captain Tukiman. Return to dive school to eat our catch! Day 2: 8am: Theory on caring for catch, advanced hunting techniques. Pool session to master duck dive and target practice. 12pm: Lunch 1pm: Depar to Padang-Padang Beach for our second boat diving session. Spearfishing focused on diving deeper and using flashers to attract and shoot larger pelagic fish. Return to base to cook and eat our catch.
